Here are the rebates and programs that may be available to you
First Time Home Buyers Plan (FTHB)
RRSP savings used to purchase or build a home. First time buyers can use up to $25,000 and repay over 15 years.
First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit
Use closing costs up to $5,000 for a non-refundable income tax credit that will provide up to $750 in income tax savings.
Healthy Home Renovation Tax Credit
For those that are 65+ or have a disability, you can receive a tax credit up to $1,500 for renovations that improve safety or accessibility up to $10,000.
Land Transfer Tax Refund
The maximum amount refundable is $4,000 within the requirements.
CMHC Green Home
Refund of up to 25% on the CMHC mortgage loan insurance premium when you buy or build an energy-efficient home, or you buy an existing home and make energy-saving renovations.
Ontario Energy & Property Tax Credit
This credit helps low- to moderate-income individuals and families with property taxes and the sales tax on energy. The credit is part of the Ontario Trillium Benefit and pays up to $1065 per year if you pay rent or property tax and up to $1213 per year if you’re a senior.
Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP)
This credit lowers electricity bills (up to $600 annually) for lower-income households by providing a credit directly to your monthly bill. OESP eligibility is based on household income and household size.
